I have a 90 minute session in Deadlock. One of my matches was very interesting, but it lasted 45 minutes, over the 30 minute limit.
Having to pull the whole session into Davinci Resolve to cut the match out, and wait for it’s rendering, it’s a level of hassle that is unnecessary - I am not asking to use the Medal servers to store my footage, i just want the locally running program to let me do this kind of simple editing (just cutting really).
We already got montage tools, which I’m grateful for bug reporting, this is not a far step away from that.

Hey! Thanks for the suggestion. This makes so much sense. We’ll see if we can unblock this!

I’m like 50% sure i already posted a similar request before and it was approved, maybe supported when it was made by someone else. Hoping to see this expanded, thanks Patrick and the Medal team.

Oh yeah its issue #2516
I guess the limit got upped hah.

Thanks! Yeah I have a PR up for this right now. It’ll likely be in next week’s update 🙏🏻

Nice! Off topic, but maybe you know? Back in the day moving trims used to move the timestamp of the clip to the edge - now it seems to move to a bit of a more random, desynced place in the clip. I don’t like that change, but with how messy it is it feels like a bug. Is it?
If i explained poorly i can open up another ticket and try to show evidence.

@Claymeister All good! I was able to reproduce that bug. Chatted to an engineer and we’ll see if we can get that fixed soon. It’ll probably take a little longer to show up in the app though but there is a ticket for it now internally!

Aight, i would say as further feedback, that pushing the beginning cut should just play the clip from it, while the ending should move the head of the clip to 1 second before the cut, to see how the clip ends. Possibly 2 seconds.
Thanks a lot again Patrick, medal really has a superb feedback team.

This will be in Early Access later this week, and out to Latest Stable at the end of the week 🙏🏻

I can finally clip over 30mins! Though, the trimming still is a bit buggy with the timenotch being inconsistent when moving the starting marker. The ending marker seems solid with 5 seconds of review, though i would still want an option to shorten it to 1 second cuz i like perfectly cutting the video and having a shorter playback helps speed the process up.

We have plans to totally revamp this editor next year so the trimming will be improved as part of those changes!
