Mic push-to-talk#93

H

A feature to use your mic with push to talk instead of your mic being open. There is a feature like this in OBS as well.

I would love this. I have a 2 year old who thinks she owns the house, and push to talk would let me spare my audience from the majority of her baby screams, but still get my one-liners in to the clip

I would love this since I still wanna record what is happening with Discord when I’m talking to my friends (I use Pust to talk on discord since I live in a noisy environment.

This is super important & needs to be implemented.

I would love to be able to use it with Valorant. As ranked mode is push to talk, recording my open mic would be useless and not designated for my use. Add push to talk so I’ll be able to record the mic as soon I talk in game. Thanks <3

Yeah, good luck with that mate. We’ve been asking for this for months but we get every other “audio” setting in the world but this. There’s other programs that have push2talk already available, just go do your research with google.

This is the sole reason i haven’t swapped to Medal, but i am stuck using a plays clone called “RePlays” - only due to the feature of having Push to talk on Microphone.

Whenever this gets implemented, I’ll do a swap.

I actually fixed the problem using this video

. I taken the script for push to talk at https://github.com/YoYo-Pete/AutoHotKeys/blob/master/PushToTalk.ahk . Copy his code in Notepad++. Used the first script Soundcard Analysis at https://github.com/YoYo-Pete/AutoHotKeys/blob/master/Soundcard%20Analysis.ahk , compiled it to make it a script with autokey. Set my mic to 73%. Started Soundcard Analysis script to see which device is now at 73%. Copied the mixer number from Soundcard Analysis of my 73% device (7 was my number), and putted it at the variable myMic= at the start of Push_to_talk script. Used AutoKey to make it a script. I run it and it disable my mic all time, but when I click the button of my choice which is mouse5 ($XButton2) that I needed to change in “Change this for the button you want to use” and “Make sure if you change the keybinding button to change this” (You can find your button in AutoKey guide at https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/KeyList.htm . I finally removed the 2 Bip line in the script because I don’t to hear the ficking beep everytime I press mouse5. Good Game

If this is implemented please allow multiple PTT hotkeys. I have a separate key for discord and in-game voice. I would like both of them to be recorded.

Thank you everyone for the resounding cry for PTT. We have wanted to add this for awhile too, it will be coming soon. Hang tight.

@MENIX @Saven Patel @Christophe Ménard @Dinodadog Dog

Also, @Dougcarl that is a good suggestion. Our first version might only support 1 hotkey.
