[Backup (metadata)] clips.json and other relevant files should be stored/cloned alongside clips themselves#4251

Old suggestion. The json files responsible for your library should either:

• be in their own folder alongside your clips, 90% of users don’t know where or what to backup in AppData – or they wipe their windows OS drive with their clips on a seperate drive and lose clips.json in the process

• Be regularly cloned from AppData to the clips directory for secondary backup

We no longer use clips.json since a total refactor of the library earlier this year. Is there an issue you ran into?

oh, how does it work now? sql db somewhere? The json files are still there ofc.

and no issue, i was just looking through very old discord messages and realised i never made this suggestion

Yep we use a local database file on your machine now

where is that stored? could it not also be subject to being lost on a wipe like the json files were?
