Add a Lifetime Premium Supporter badge separate from current streak badges#4098
Hey Medal Team and Community,
Medal Premium badges currently appear to be based on the current uninterrupted subscription streak. I understand why that exists, but I think long-term supporters with gaps should also have some form of recognition.
Some users have supported Medal across many years but could not always keep Premium active every single month due to financial gaps. Under the current system, someone who supported Medal since 2022 with breaks can appear the same as someone who subscribed only a few months ago.
Suggestion:
Keep the current streak badge system, but add a separate Lifetime Premium Supporter badge or profile stat based on one of these:
- First year Premium was purchased
- Total cumulative paid Premium months
- Lifetime Premium supporter status
- Founder / early supporter recognition
This would allow Medal to keep uninterrupted streak badges while also recognizing long-term users who have supported the platform for years.
Example:
Current Streak: Premium
Lifetime Supporter: Since 2022
or
Lifetime Premium Supporter: 30+ months paid
This would make long-time creators feel seen without changing the existing rank system.
I’ve used Medal since 2019 and have Premium history going back to July 31, 2022. Even with gaps, that history represents real long-term support.

I like the idea of “Lifetime Premium Supporter: 30+ months paid”. So that the premium badge doesnt just show the current streak but the amount of months with premium in total.
Maybe even add a regular badge to every user, lets say the new 2 weeks one (the small silver one, iirc?), regardless of active premium subscribtion or not. Basic badge for everyone, upgradable with a premium subscribtion over the months/years.
After the active subscribtion stops due to whatever reason the badge could still be visible (maybe with a less vibrant colour to see the diff between active/non active subscribtion or something similar?).
This would also add a customizasion option, to basically.. buy a badge, then stop whenever you got the right streak badge
