Custom HTML / Browser Overlay Support for Recordings & Clips#4040

I would like to suggest support for custom overlays within Medal recordings and clips.

Specifically, the ability to add:

Local HTML files
Browser URLs
Image overlays (PNG/WebP with transparency)

Users could then position and scale these overlays anywhere on the screen, similar to browser sources in OBS.

This would open up a huge number of use cases, including:

Roleplay bodycams (FiveM, Arma Reforger, DayZ, GTA RP)
Racing telemetry overlays
Speedrunning timers
Custom HUDs
Team branding and content creator overlays
Live timestamps and data displays

One of Medal’s biggest strengths is its lightweight clipping system compared to traditional recording software. Currently, users who want custom overlays are often forced to use OBS or additional third-party software, which adds complexity and performance overhead.

Even a basic implementation supporting:

HTML files
Browser URLs
Transparent PNG overlays
Position, scale, and opacity controls

would provide significant value while keeping Medal’s simple workflow intact.

This feature would allow users to create professional-looking recordings and clips while continuing to use Medal’s excellent instant replay and clipping functionality.
