Return the button to disable the recorder#3739

Title. My medal just updated and now the button to turn off the recorder is gone, replaced with a button to go into the settings and disable it there. WHY? It was perfectly fine as is. Why are you guys so determined to make your app completely unusable? Why should I continue tolerating these horrible decisions instead of going to a competitor like Steelseries and Steam game recording? IT WAS FINE AS IS FOR SO LONG! I’ve used this feature every day for years, and I’m not gonna tolerate it being removed. If this isn’t put back I’m uninstalling the fucking app. I’m at my wit’s end with this program.

hey thanks for the feedback, and sorry to hear you didn’t like these changes.

we are always testing and iterating on some parts of the app, and this change is a part of larger improvements, around quick actions and recordings.

out of curiosity why / when do you feel the need to turn the recorder off?

if you check you app now, you should have the toggle again btw

I turn my recorder off when I test modding in games like Lethal Company or Team Fortress 2. Modding those games is a lot of loading it up for 3 minutes, turning it off, changing something and restarting it. I turn the recorder off so I don’t have a ton of 3 minute sessions clogging my library. It also saves processing power I don’t need to be using if I don’t want to record something. Frankly I don’t see a reason to obfuscate such an important feature, especially since it seems so easy to re-enable it on your end.
