Losing the date a clip was made is insane. Upload date only is UNACCEPTABLE.#2268

The date that a clip was made and the date it was uploaded must both be preserved. I had this old clip I just uploaded from local, now it looks like something I did recently and I CAN’T EVEN ACCESS THE ORIGINAL CLIP DATE BECAUSE IT GETS OVERWRITTEN WITH THE UPLOAD DATE!

Whenever you upload a local file, the date it was clipped is lost! This means that I could never organize my files by the date they were made unless I upload immeadiately, which is a big drain on your guys’ server hosting costs and a pain for your users.

It’s better for us all if the original file date is preserved, this must also get grandfathered in for old pre-existing clips.

It would also be nice to sort by clipping date in my library

You actually should be able to find the date of the clip being taken with clips.json in AppData\Roaming\Medal\store. Copy the clip ID from Medal, use Ctrl+F in Notepad++ or something with that ID and somewhere under there should be a TimeCreated number, which you can convert into a date. But I agree this should be a function Medal directly supports

We’re looking into some ways to improve this.

We’re now showing the created time on the clip cards in the library. If you click on a clip you can see the published time in the sidebar.
