I feel like there should be a way for certain people to access some unlisted/private clips a bit like snapchat stories

yes, this would make editing a lot easier! I could appoint someone to my group and they can access my clips and edit them for me to approve for publish

You can create shared albums which you can put unlisted clips into and share with a group of friends on Medal. They can also contribute to the album themselves if you turn on the “Collaborate” setting in the album :)
